Previous Lessons & Studies
We began Fall 2018 with a series on Repentance: Wash, Rinse, Repeat
Week 1 began with us looking at Q. 87 of the WSC: What is repentance unto life?
Week 2 we looked at repentance as Turning to the Lord
Week 3 we looked at the new obedience repentance requires
We then considered who we are and who we are called to be, with a reminder of the Eternal Plan of God [taken from an RYM free Bible study]
We followed that by going through what it means to be following God's plan for us, specificially looking at God's will for us in:
1. Believing in Jesus Christ (John 6:35-40) [Oct. 7]
2. Submitting in doing right (1 Peter 2:13-17) [Oct. 14]
3. Giving Thanks in Everything (1 Thess 5:16-24) [Oct. 28]
4. Abstaining from sexual immorality (1 Thess 4:3) [Dec. 2]
Hitting the "Reset Button" - finding rest in the rythym of a new semester means we deny ourselves and follow Him.
Week 1 (Jan 13) - Denying ourselves (Matt 16:24; Matt 10:23; John 21:1-19)
Week 2 (Jan 20) - Following Him (Matt 4:18-21; Matt 8:18-22; 9:9-13)
Week 3 (Jan 27) - Rest is given (Matt 11:25-30)
"Good Sex" - A Whole Person Approach to Teenage Sexuality and God
Week 1 (March 17) - Sex Messaging– students are flooded with messages about sex in movies, TV, internet, school, etc. What is the message from the Bible? (Ephesians 5:1-20)
Week 2 (March 31) - Sexual Identity– who you are in God’s image (Genesis 1:27)
Week 3 (April 7) - Intimacy– there is more to guard than physical contact (Proverbs 4:23)
Week 4 (MS on April 14/ HS on April 28) - Desire– What do we do with it? Desire is good, except when it is bad! (Deuteronomy 5:21)
Week 5 (May 5) - Boundaries– How far is too far? (“Not even a hint” – Ephesians 5:3)
Week 6 (May 19) - Responsibility– We are responsible to God and to others for our sexual choices (1 Corinthians 6:12-20) & Do-Overs– Is there hope for me? And/or Is there hope for my friends? (Romans 3:23-24)
