The Bumbershoot
The purpose of children's ministry at TPC is to give specific thought and attention to the way children grow in their understanding of Christ's Kingdom and what membership in that Kingdom entails.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. This Sunday evening (Dec. 17) is our Memorial Advent Service. This is a time of remembering those who aren't with us in the flesh and considering how to live with both the pain of loss and the joy of Christ

  A THOUGHT FROM YESTERDAY'S SERMON

What do you want to be when you grow up? Do you want to have a house? Get married? Have children? Travel? Get a job? It's fun to think about these kinds of things isn't it?  And the Bible says we should think about things and make plans for our future. In both Proverbs and James we read about making plans for the future and committing our plans to the Lord so that we are willing to change them if they aren't in line with God's plans. This is exactly what we heard about yesterday concerning Mary. She was a young girl - not much older than many of you. She had plans to get married and live an ordinary life but God had different plans for her. When God made his plans known, her attitude was one of service. Have you ever considered that God actually has plans for your life? He really does! In fact, He tells us in Romans that He is working ALL things together for your good and to build up His Kingdom!  Are you getting in on this work?  A simple prayer you can pray at the beginning of each day to help you remember how valuable your life is and how much God wants to do with it is one we learn from Mary: "I am the Lord's servant. May my life be lived according to your Word O Lord."
PRAYER CORNER:

1. Please continue to pray for Madelyn & Mikaela Holder's Dad whose broken leg is healing.

3. Pray for your friends who will be taking tests to end their first semester this week.

4. Pray for God's grace and peace to increase in our lives during this Advent Season.

Children's Questions or prayer requests can be placed in the box on the Children's Table outside the sanctuary.
