  A THOUGHT FROM YESTERDAY'S PASSAGE:

If Jesus walked in your living room right now and said, "Come with me to a great party I have prepared!" would you drop everything, no matter what you were doing, and go? In the story of the Dinner Party that Jesus told in Luke 14, he wants us to understand that his Kingdom has arrived, the party has begun! He actually has shown up and kicked off the festivities with his arrival. But most of the time, we are so busy with our own lives that we aren't paying attention to Him and His reasons for having the party and inviting us to join him.

Think sersiously. Close your eyes and imagine yourself doing one of the things you enjoy most in the world. Once you are right in the middle of it, imagine Jesus saying, "Stop, right now. Don't finish. Come with me!" Would you be able to believe that he actually knows best and has something even better for you than finishing what you were doing? Even if what you were doing was a good thing?

King Jesus, thank you so much for making me part of your Kingdom and inviting me to your party. Help me to live as one who believes your Kingdom has actually taken over and your party has begun.
