The Bumbershoot
The purpose of children's ministry at TPC is to give specific thought and attention to the way children grow in their understanding of Christ's Kingdom and what membership in that Kingdom entails.

DRAMA CAMP: Only 4 weeks away!  If you have not registered, you must do so by this Friday, May 11 to ensure you receive a t-shirt.

COMMUNITY GARDEN: If you are interested in helping with our new community garden, email Piet Grove. He would love to help your family get involved.

SERVE MURFREESBORO: May 19 all ages are invited to meet at Trinity at 8 am for breakfast. At 9 am we will split up and work at different locations around the city, helping schools, businesses and ministries with yard work and repairs.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION: May 20 will be our last Spring CE. If you have a chance to make a card or do something thoughtful for your teachers, please try to do so to let them know how much you appreciate all their love for you and all of our covenant children.

In Luke 17:1-10 Jesus warns his disciples to beware of temptations to sin. He also instructs them to help others in the battle against sin and to be quick to forgive if someone fails and sins against them.

Does lovingly and patiently battling sin and forgiving others when they sin against you sound like an almost impossible task? If it doesn't sound difficult, you may not be taking sin as seriously as Jesus does. In this passage, Jesus speaks very firmly, possibly as firmly as he does at any place in Scripture because he wants to be clear: sin separates humans from God and his good world. As ones who have committed to following Christ out of our sin and into His redeemed world, Jesus prepares us for what the path of following him looks like. He wants us to be on guard against sin that creeps up as we walk. He knows it's tempting but also that it keeps us from enjoying God. So he makes this point about sin: the sins you choose not to give up, not to do battle against, deny the gift of forgiveness God has given you. But also, the sins others do to you that you choose not to give up, that is not to forgive, denies the forgiveness God has given you.

Are you as quick to forgive others as God has been to forgive you? Spend some time today thinking of all the ways God has forgiven you. Are you showing that kind of forgiveness to others?
