The Bumbershoot
The purpose of children's ministry at TPC is to give specific thought and attention to the way children grow in their understanding of Christ's Kingdom and what membership in that Kingdom entails.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

image12 (2) HANGING OF THE GREENS:
Don't miss out on this fun TPC tradition! With the season of Advent just around the corner, we will be using the CE hour this Sunday to decorate the building and talk about the purpose of the season while enjoying Christmas cookies and holiday music.

praying child ADVENT PRAYER SERVICES:
All ages are invited to attend prayer services each Sunday evening during the season of Advent beginning December 2 at 6pm. The first one will be geared to help children understand Advent.

note takingSERVICE OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN:
Just to the left of the sanctuary doors, on the "Tools for Young Worshippers" table, you will find sermon outlines you can use to take notes & record your questions during the sermon. After worship, turn in your notes at the same table and they will be given to adults serving in nursery and hallways who can't hear the sermon. It helps them study what they missed, AND, they will also reply to you with answers to your questions!
  Calvin & Brandon
Calvin and Pastor Brandon had a serious theological discussion after the sermon.

HYMN OF THE MONTH:
As we look ahead to the upcoming Advent season, let's work to learn, "Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus" that the children's choir will lead on Dec. 2, the first Sunday of Advent.

Click here to listen to the accompaniment and here to read the lyrics.

PLEASE PRAY:
Join us in giving thanks to God for keeping our teachers, Dr. Ed and Ms. Peggy safe through their surgeries last week.

Pray for Madelyn and Mikaela as they mourn the loss of their grandfather.

Yesterday’s worship training lesson was, "Going Out with God's Blessing" and next week will be "Church Seasons and Colors." Click on the title to read the lessons for further discussion at home.
A THOUGHT FROM YESTERDAY'S PASSAGE:

There are so many reasons for disagreements between friends, brothers and sisters, children and parents. Though we are all made in God's image, we are all created unique and with individual thoughts and ideas. It can be frustrating when we just can't seem to make someone see our point of view. But, have you ever stopped to wonder why someone doesn't understand you? In the passage we looked at yesterday, Paul says that one of the reasons we have arguments is due to what we think about. Yes, our thoughts! He tells us to think on things that are "true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and praiseworthy." A teacher of mine once said that you can know what you love by answering the question, "What do you think about when your mind is free to wander?"  Do your thoughts fit Paul's description of what we should be setting our minds on? If our deepest love is something other than Christ's Kingdom, it is going to be impossible for us to live at peace with those around us. King Jesus, help me to set my mind on things of your Kingdom so that I may love those around me and be at peace with them.
  MEMORY VERSE:
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone.” Philippians 4:4-5a
